Housing

One adult requires at least a 4 foot Vivarium with a tight fitting lid. Provide several hiding places throughout the cage so your Bearded Dragon will feel secure. Rocks and logs add interest and make good resting areas. Water must always be available in a heavy shallow dish. The temperature during the day should be maintained between 110F on the hot side and 90F at the cool end. Locate the tank out of direct sunlight to avoid overheating. Do not use hot rocks. They can cause thermal burns or electrical fires and should NEVER be used with Bearded Dragons or any other reptile.

Diet

Your Bearded Dragon will thrive on a diet of 50% green matter and 50% Crickets. When young it is probably best to make this ratio 25% greens and 75% crickets as they will need the extra protein to grow healthily, however the greens are still important. The greens should consist of Kale, Spinach, Greens, Brussell Tops, Parsley, Watercress, mixed with 20% Carrot, Tomato, Melon and Grapes. Do not feed your Bearded Dragon Iceberg or Round Lettuce although you can provide Mixed Lettuce sold in supermarkets that consist of Chinese Lettuce, Raddico, etc. Lettuce should be viewed as once a week feed as it contains high amounts of water and not as much goodness as the other foods mentioned. All foods should be supplemented on a daily basis with Nutrobal, also, fresh water should be available at all times.

Cleaning

Wash out the water and food dishes daily. Place the Bearded Dragon in an escape proof container while cleaning the tank. The tank should be washed monthly in hot water and the substrate changed. A 10% bleach solution can be used to disinfect the tank or a Reptile Safe disinfectant. Rinse well with hot water and dry thoroughly.

Extra Info

Male Bearded Dragons are territorial and so it is not recommended to keep more than one in the same tank. It is possible to keep a male and a female together or two females though if there are any signs of aggression they should be separated.
