Paws for Thought's own Bearded Dragon Starter Kit comes with everything you need to simulate your lizard's natural enviroment.

The Wooden Vivarium (Flat packed with internet orders, fully constructed in-store) has many advantages over all-glass vivariums. For a start the lizard can see the "walls" of the vivarium thus eliminating the risk of them hurting themselves by running into the sides (as happens with all-glass vivariums), and they are very well insulated so you can better regulate the temperature (and reduce your energy costs!). Our starter kit comes with a 48" x 18" x 18" wooden vivarium that will give your Bearded Dragon ample room even as an adult.

With the Day/Night Dimming Thermostat you can precisely control the temperature of the enclosure and provide the neccessary night time temperature drop that is essential for your lizard's physical, as well as mental, well being. A thermostat is important to keep the temperature consistant. Constantly varying and irregular temperatures can stress a Bearded Dragon and lead to other health problems in future.

The kit comes with a Flourescent UVB Bulb and Starter Unit. UVB is a form of Ultraviolet Light that lizards need to metabolise Vitamin D3. Without this vitamin they can not absorb or use calcium from their food even if you are providing supplements and so will suffer from Calcium deficiency. Behaviourly, this problem becomes evident by the animal shaking, and eventually collapsing. This condition, known as "Metabolic Bone Disease", will, if left untreated, become terminal. However, if the UV and the Mineral Supplements (also provided with the kit) are available to the lizard there should be no problems.
