Rabbit

Rabbits have been kept as pets in Western nations since the 1800s. Like all pets, rabbits need a considerable amount of care and attention. The natural lifetime of a well-cared-for domestic rabbit kept indoors is typically between 6 and 10 years, although it has been known to reach 12 years.

Hamsters

Hamsters can be kept both in cages and in terraria, both of which are available in our stores. Cages are easier to carry; their bars can be used for climbing. On the other hand, glass boxes keep hamsters from throwing litter out of their cages, provide a better view into the hamster's home, and create a quieter and more sheltered interior.

Hamster Care Sheet.

Guinea Pigs

Guinea Pigs are widely considered to be good pets. If handled correctly early in their life, they become very amenable to being picked up and carried, and seldom bite or scratch. They are timid explorers, and rarely attempt to escape from their cages, even when an opportunity presents itself.

Gerbils

Gerbils were first introduced to the pet industry in 1964. These were the Mongolian gerbils. Their value as pets was soon appreciated and they are now found in pet shops all over the UK and USA.

For more information check out our
Gerbil Care Sheet.

Chinchillas

Chinchillas live in burrows or crevices in rocks. They are agile jumpers and can jump up to 5 feet. Wild chinchillas have been observed eating plants, fruits, seeds, and small insects, though this diet could irritate the digestive system of a domestic chinchilla whose diet should be primarily hay-based.

Chinchilla Care Sheet.
